About Savannah

“Loving ourselves through the process of our story is the bravest thing we will ever do.” - Brené Brown

Let’s face it – life isn’t easy and we all go through storms that are difficult to weather. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to explore yourself, heal, and become the best version of you in mind, body, and spirit. My mission is to collaborate with you to find and focus on your individual strengths, celebrate them, and use them to improve the areas you are struggling with and meet your goals.

My name is Savannah Dynkowski and I am a Clinical Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW-C) in the state of Michigan. I received my Master of Social Work with concentrations in interpersonal practice and mental health from the University of Michigan school of Social Work and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oakland University.

I specialize in working with teens, adults, couples, and athletes focusing on mental health, mood challenges, and stress reduction. I have experience working with those who struggle with ADHD, feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, relational concerns, emotional dysregulation, and also those who simply want a safe place to talk. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices and tailor them to fit each individual’s needs and goals.

Being here today, even just browsing, shows bravery and courage. I look forward to meeting you where you’re at, learning about what makes you who you are, and working together on your physical, emotional, and mental health journey.

Ask Savannah:

 Who is your ideal client?

My ideal client is anyone who is willing to take a chance on themself and be curious. My ideal client is willing to explore their past, present, or future, identify their needs, learn coping skills, understand the parameters of their weaknesses and build on their strengths, celebrate their progress, and bring peace (or acceptance) to their chaos. My ideal client is ready to let me in on who they are and their journey so that we can work together toward growth, progress, and sustainability.

What do you like about being a therapist?

I love being a therapist because witnessing and being a part of someone’s journey toward growth, acceptance, and progress is both humbling and inspiring. I love being a teacher of tools, a safe person, a supporter, and a sounding board. Seeing people progress and succeed is my ultimate joy.

What's something you wish people knew about therapy?

I want people to know that your therapy is about YOU. Therapy is a judgement free space to explore the “why’s” and “how’s” and build sustainable progress toward success and happiness.

Why can people benefit from therapy?

You can benefit from therapy because it’s a safe space to explore, be curious, and fill your own tool box with tools to help you find stability and success in your world. Giving yourself the space and accountability to do this alongside someone who will support, help, and guide you can be life changing.

What's something you'd like clients to know about you or how you work?

I am going to be your biggest supporter and I am always willing to work just as hard as you do. I love helping you explore the “why’s” and “how’s” and also understand the importance of building stability and safety in the meantime. I’m ready to be your listening ear and safe place and also help hold you accountable when you need it. I focus on your growth as a whole person and I utilize many different modalities with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

How do you define success in therapy?

Success is consistently showing up for yourself, promising not to give up on yourself, and being open to exploring, being curious, and filling your tool box with tools. Success is gaining acceptance for the things you cannot change and building the courage to change what you can.
